Winter witch's ladder and Expedite altar refresh

I finally managed to weave another witch’s ladder this weekend and like most things lately, it didn’t quite go according to plan. 🥀

It’s been a while since I made a ladder (October?) which is unusual for me, but a good indicator that my altar really needed tended. I’ve mentioned before that this space is a pretty good indicator of my mental health, which recently has been scattered and erratic and a total fog.

Consequently, last week I got myself some willow branches (my favorite for plant weaving) and by the time I had a moment to even sit down and touch them, they were too brittle to work with and snapped when bent.

Fortunately I also had wax flower, which is delicate but even more flexible. It also smells amazing when crushed and manipulated. So I gathered a bunch of boughs, braided them, and wove them together into a ladder with rose. Then I formed it into a wreath and tied it off with twine. Now things feel a little more centered.

I also did a quick refresh on my Expedite altar but not a full cleanse. He’s back on his BS so I’m giving him some space to figure it out.

But overall, even though my plans didn’t work out exactly, the result was a little more graceful, fragile, and expressive. It forced me to be more creative and the outcome is something that probably captured more spirit.

Sometimes I’m too earth and no air.🌲
