Green witch garden memento

Here’s a simple and beautiful example of hearthcraft you can use to capture a moment in time or commemorate a garden.🌿

One of my favorite (and most tangible) folk practices involves using knot magic to create a time net that I can revisit later. This involves a deep focus on the current moment (including feelings, sounds, smells, etc.).

I used a similar method to create a small, organic memento of this year’s Mary garden. I’ve been obsessed with my columbine, so to start, I snipped a couple of flowers just before they started to wilt. I also added a sprig of lavender and a bit of silver dust.

Then I dried the plants (using a microwave press) and arranged them in a glass frame. I discovered these frames a few years ago when I was looking for a solution to preserve some of my wedding flowers. They’re fairly easy to find online but you can find the exact tools I used in my storefront.

My frame came with a couple of sticky dots you can use to hold the plants in place but it also closes tightly enough to hold the floating flowers.

I also really love this idea for saving (and continuing to benefit from) the herbs, flowers, and trees employed during a ritual or spell (or occasion!).

I hope you enjoy a beautiful start to June! I’m really looking to midsummer this year.🌞

Quick note for patrons: I’m a bit delayed on your May project after dealing with a week of sick children, but please look forward to an update soon, as well as your upcoming full moon newsletter and details on your July gift. Visit here for more info.
