I've been in the strangest headspace lately. For the last couple weeks, I haven't had the motivation to stitch anything, and it's been all I can do not to crawl into bed after work and watch The Tudors for the seventeenth time.
I turned 31 a little over a week ago. It was weirdly emotional (even though my 30's are already a picnic compared to the horror of my 20's), albeit quiet and calm.
I've always anticipated documenting not only my own life in this project, but also creating a time capsule of my city and country, and coming up with symbols to represent current events has been a struggle. Everything in the news is so convoluted and, frankly, gross, that the last thing I want to do is capture it in pretty thread.
Anyway, I have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming weeks, and hope that this summer will kickstart some inspiration.
I did stitch one (very) tiny addition during the week of my birthday. The weather has been gorgeous, and the neighborhood flowers especially beautiful this year, so I made a garden.
I swear my designs keep getting smaller and smaller.
