One thing I like about cross-stitch (and embroidery) is that it’s so focus-intensive. When I’m working on something, I’m usually at full concentration so I don’t miss or miscount a stitch.
Consequently, since my thoughts tend to be locked for a while on whichever symbol or image I’m stitching, I can look at one of my older projects and picture where I was and how I felt while I was working on it.
I love adding to my memory cloth for that reason–it’s nice to have something tangible to trigger all those memories.
I’m going to try and include the patterns I create for each of the “bubbles” as often as possible, in case anyone is ever interested in trying something similar and needs ideas.
