I’m pretty sure that my first foray into cross-stitch was around age seven, which was the first summer I went to Ukrainian church camp. We were given stiff aida and black and red embroidery floss to create little patterns, most of which were familiar, as they hung on the cloths around my church.
Here’s a towel I cross-stitched about two years ago to line an Easter basket.
I love the black and red together. Although the colors are a little dark for the memory cloth, I wanted to make sure to include them. Here is the design I came up with for my Ukrainian bubble.
(I added a couple new designs this week. I’ll get to the lamppost later.)
